Paul Caton spent his childhood in Devon and went on to Sussex
for an education which put great emphasis on Art, Music and
Craft - hence the mould was struck!
In his late teens Paul worked in Switzerland in the Swiss
Forestry service. This experience of mountain forests and lowland
mixed woods gave him the understanding and knowledge that was
to become the foundation of his sculpting career.
Paul is now renowned for his beautiful wooden bowls and large
sculptures. And of course his bronzework starts life as a wooden
mould.
He also loves working in stone, especially Carrerra marble.
So there are more bowls in this beautiful material and many
grand architectural sculptures gracing gardens, parks, galleries
and homes all over the world.
Now living and working in North Herefordshire he manages to
combine his sculpting with teaching and demonstrating his craft
to children and adult groups. He is still involved with Forestry
projects and diversely, over the years, he's developed a love
of flying - his favourite aircraft are of course, vintage planes
built from. . . wood!
